Maybe this ain’t
Ain’t poetry
Didn’t write it for you
Just wrote it for me

Poet if you think
It ain’t poetry
Then why did you post it
On website poetry?

Good question critic
Why post it on here?
It pulled my emotions
I ended in tears

Don’s poem is every writer’s writing anthem. Is writing to be contained and bound by rules and regulations? Or is it creative expression that should be allowed to soar above any type of limitation? For all those who believe in technicalities, I also believe that freedom to imagine and pen one’s angels or demons is absolutely necessary. I think the critic is stumped at the end.
    Congratulations Don!

    1. Thankyou Terveen. There should be no limitations put on writing. Imagination and creativity should not be bound by rules. Yes, the critic is stumped at the end……..

Don you are so funny. I sent a autobiographical book in once, a one and a half year project to a publisher. I received a response in about a week instead of the normal six months. Her rejection was almost unkind. I decided to ask a publisher for the first time if she would be kind enough to give me with any feedback. Her response, “I can’t even begin to relate to the characters in your book.” My response back was a gracious thank you and then I said, “I am so grateful that you can’t begin to relate to the life I lead as a child, that means your were blessed.” So I really appreciate this piece, well done. You are a very cleaver poet and I always look forward to what kind of caricatures you are going to put in your pieces for emphasis. Have a great weekend Don xoxo

    1. Thankyou Joni

Publishers are a funny lot. Rhyme is not in fashion. No money in it for them. Looks like I’m doomed to while away my time on FCS. Ah well….

  4. Don, each time a poet writes a verse or two, I believe it comes from the depth of their soul. Not everyone gets a chance to delve deep into that “soul” I guess. But, critics are silenced too sometimes. Your humor and wit shine through your poems. Well done.

    1. Thankyou Shobana…..
