When you get to my age
You say just what you think
What others think don’t bother you
Rinky dinky dink

When you get to my age
I write down what I want
Don’t care about the colour
Don’t care about the font

You hurry and put down on page
What’s inside your head
‘Cause when you get to my age
Time is limited

Don writes about age and a particular stage of life where one’s mindset and actions don’t depend much upon the opinions of others. I wish this was the scenario at any age or stage of life. One must be true to one’s heart and that is the key to wonderful living. Desires and fears keep recycling themselves, take them as they come and keep moving with passion and determination. Happiness is what you make of it.
Congratulations Don!

This poem is quite liberating. I wish this freedom was at all agesets, but as it seems, the older one gets, the freer they become. That’s the beauty of old age. Amazing 👏. Please do check and subscribe to my site too

Love the wisdom of it. How nice. Just type away and write as much as one can–I mean any age. Writing is the best activity…

This is great and ditto on many of these, especially write it down as soon as it comes, which I do with my poetry. Nicely written Don. Happy Holidays to you Don!
