I Gently Wish Upon a Star by Jeff Flesch

heart aches, reminding me of earthquakes,

experienced in between the lines,

moving past mistakes

of a life, this life, lived in moments unsure,

and in others, grown taller

than the applewood trees flowers…

beauty lives, at times,

in the splendor of the exquisite

pain beneath our reach

as we teach, and

transpose to, and for those that know,

it is, I am…and

yet, feel less than the circumstance…

though, I’ll continue to stand

with you, each moment,

until the very last petal falls

from the pearl gardens open stance

falling to the earth,

caressing the dew upon

the grass, I see beauty in you…

and, ask kindly for this

moment to last, while I gently

wish upon a star,

and ask for your hand by glance…

Jeff’s poetry is always inspiring, a comforting consolation. Pain is within us and around us. We stumble and fall but what makes us rise tall is the love and hope that continues to bloom. Wishing isn’t silly or devoid of logic. If teamed with passion and determination, it is the elixir that guarantees fulfillment and solace.
    Congratulations Jeff!
