Collective Heritage by Joni Caggiano

sparkling eyes jump to blue skies

laughter cracking like popcorn

off pinecones while the sun sighs

an echo, a reflection of my face

joy creates sunbeams in her smile

a bald eagle spots us in this place

new roots toss footballs with dad

blankets of earth’s carpet supple

vibrating with merriment, now sad

as end of day, is time whistling notes

gifts from God blending heartbeats

generations stir a soup of new hopes

Thank you so much kind friend. It was time for a happy poem. I wrote this about Thanksgiving morning when we went to the park where the grandchildren had all their friends come and they played touch football. My daughter and I had a wonderful time and a bald eagle did pass by. Thank you Cindy. Sending you lots of love sweetie. ❤️
