I alight on a star
it’s farther than I’ve ever been before
a thousand miles away from you
I transfix my eyes
on all the galaxies next door
while knowing
they are reminiscent of a time before
our love was larger than the sun in the sky
within my heart you always did shine
like a star
I hang my hopes and dreams
on the moon
while I recline
into your arms, awaiting the night of the morning tide

Jeff’s poetry travels far beyond the world we know. The stars, the moon, the sun, and the tides that rise and fall beneath the cosmic trance. Love can’t be contained and these beautiful words liberate the heart from difficult bondages. “I hang my hopes and dreams on the moon” – this line indulges my senses to dive into a shimmering pool of belief – love makes all things possible. I’ll gaze at the moon with different eyes tonight.
Congratulations Jeff!
