The Phoenix by Joni Caggiano

A serpent turning

into a great bird

with wings of blue

and words I heard

killing and blood

death and sorrow

innocence crying

forgetting tomorrow

great his sword

wings shine white

serpent sailing high

God’s hand did smite

dazzling light rising

many souls ascend

heaven greets all

souls reside within

Joni writes of hope beyond all logical measures. The fall and the rise, and the immortality of the souls that seek their abodes in the spiritual kingdom. There’s much to be deciphered from these poetic lines. Nothing is ever ruined. It’s the faith and belief that all evil will be conquered by the power that resides within us and around us. A blissful reminder that humans aren’t all-in-all.
    Congratulations Joni!
