I drive in circles
manifesting
a purpose
given to me as a child
it’s these coattails of peace and love
I ride
transcending pain, a realization
arises
like petals falling from my heart
a dew-covered and encapsulated light
invades my mind
with love
making ashes
out of notions of time

Jeff’s poetry depicts the progression of life and the lessons that change as we move along. Purposes are often instilled in us from a young age. However, realization of the self drastically alters ideas, feelings, and ambitions. Pain is a great teacher, and its wisdoms remain deep within us. The courage, faith, and affection we muster adorn time and its meaning in newer perceptions.
Congratulations Jeff!

I quote “Purposes are often instilled in us from a young age. However, realisation of the self drastically alters ideas, feelings, and ambitions.”
Very true as far as we are travellers in our first half in journey of material world. Mystics all around the world says that – Life is a full circle, it must end exactly from where it begun. The success in material world is just half part of our life, and we need to keep preparing ourself for second part of our life ie journey in spiritual world or inner journey. Only few who are able to create harmony between inner and outer while performing the work in hand are going to discover the truth within. Awareness meditation helped me in cultivating this harmony and I write on my blog from my experiences in inner journey till date.

Wonderfully put Jeff, in your perceptive poetic way. In the end the past is still with us,(even as ashes) we have that child going around in circles, but we have leaned where we are going…is straight ahead. Life and love face us in the right direction. Congratulations on publication!

We do always have that deep connection to the child within, don’t we, Karima. I love that. Thank you always!
