Known Before Death by Joni Caggiano

ennoble the chaste grandeur

words wrap around my neck

like a quill and crimson shawl

sincere lexes, gilded stardust

my heart lay bare to nameless

shall you leave me in meadows

or make a crown of gardenias

to lay upon a place of dubious rest

or will this poet’s heart pass the test

Joni’s lovely and sincere words portray the heart and mind of a poet and writer. Words are like breaths taken, filling the mind, covering the skin, infusing the spirit with imaginative experiences limitless in nature. There’s that innate longing to express as well as be recognized for creative ideas. Will one remain nameless or shall there be name and fame. My sincere effort is to never become wordless. The End.
    Congratulations Joni!

  4. In an authentic, almost classic style, Joni paints the poet now…by the title, it is her wish (not last wish) to share with other poets and be known (as she most certainly is) in her lifetime. What they make of her writings after her passing is not known, but this poet’s heart (in my judgement) has already passed the test and is known, loved and cherished through only her poetry. We love her through her letters; we see her soul in each line.
