Wear Gloves if you have to by Bogdan Dragos

funny thing was that they

were still kids

yet they loved each other much like

grown people did

They ran behind the barn

and behind a haystack and he had his

hands wrapped tightly around her

neck and squeezed hard

and moved like he tried to unscrew

something stuck

It left some nasty

red marks

She had her eyes rolled upwards

to the point where only white

was seen. White as the

froth around her lips

He let go

She blinked a few times

and spat. “No, what are you doing? Why

did you let go like that?

Oh my God, you’re so stupid! Just when

it was getting really good.”

“Sorry,” he said. “I was… M-my hands start

hurting.”

“What? Oh, you’re so lame! That’s

so weak!”

“Sorry,” he said

“Shut up and put your hands back. Get

some gloves if you have to.”

“Aw, c’mon. Can’t we just… get back to

the other thing? Like, pulling your

hair and stuff?”

“No,” she said. “I want this now. And it’s

shitty that I’ve to make

things easier for you. You’re, like, so lame,

you know? Here,” she lay on the

ground, on her back. “Now put your hands on

my neck and, like, just push down. And don’t

let me hear you cry about

your hands hurting, got that?”

“Well… okay.”

It’s a real shame

they didn’t stay together until

adulthood

Today he makes a living installing, maintaining,

and repairing surveillance systems

and wonders from time

to time what she’s doing

He’ll probably never know

that she’s

running her own bank

and will

very soon

get into politics as well

Bogdan’s tale appears to be an ironic depiction of the want to be subjugated to feel most powerful. Two kids and their dangerous game of abuser and victim where it’s not really clear which is which. But if the future is any measure of who fared better, then let’s just assume that power games have no head or tail. Dangerous, unbelievable, vicious.
    Congratulations Bogdan!

Other people offered to give me free (or discount) sessions with a psychiatrist, but your offer sounds way superior :))

Loving this piece. Always makes me think of people that fall of the chair and die. The thing I love about this piece is the fact that she was a teenager maybe younger. She was way ahead of for her age, etc. she was more experienced in one area then he was. He still thought of her and boy he would impress her as a man and again, not so much. Who knows what her bedroom antics would have been like years later, not my thing, but also no one’s judge. Great piece Dragos. Sending hugs and hoping for a wildly creative emoji !

We all have that weird childhood friend that we think won’t end up so good, but sometimes they prove everybody wrong. I’d say this is one such case :)))
