Self and Love by Bharath Upendra

The words we’ve said, the things we did

The people we’ve met, the places where we hid

We lose them all on our way towards the end

We’re busy telling ourselves it’s okay, every mile we cross is a new beginning. Neither sad nor happy, we pay no heed to the dead or the living. A place devoid of remembrances, a line bordering ignorance, is our dance floor and we move to the tunes of lies and narcissistic romance.

Our sweat reeks of the things we blamed each other for; we kiss, seeing a part of us in each other, burning. Let the clock not remind us of time, let the time not stop us from dying and come morning, we shall be ourselves again. We’re mirrors, darling, and our reflections aren’t vain.

Bharath Upendra considers himself a regular Joe who unapologetically talks about the usual and obvious. Writing to him is like an uninvited guest who still hasn’t left and to whom he’s gotten used to anyway.

You can find more of his writing at Bharath’s Banter where he speaks his mind and writes his heart.

Bharath knocks the hard truth way out of the ballpark. Life is what we make it, and many choose to simply drift through it. Accumulating complaints and grudges, shifting the blame upon the shoulders of others. As humans we tend to be vain, and how many can face themselves and strongly deny it? We are reflections of our acts and beliefs. Let’s try to maintain a decent image.
    Congratulations Bharath!

We do need to move forward especially in a long term relationship. A very good reminder for all of us not to hold grudges. Congratulations! Blessings, Joni

Disregard for our past, blames & grudges in the present. Sums up what’s wrong in most of us. Great piece! Reblogged.
