We often say goodbye to only say hello again. Life can be termed as a limitless journey where situations often end so that newer ones can come into being.
As the editor of MasticadoresIndia I had announced the birth of the online publication in September 2021, and with much excitement and joy had hoped to bring together writers and their work from all over the world.
Did I succeed in my endeavor?
I can confidently say that the variety and quality of the writing published answers this question with a very affirmative YES.
It is May 2023 now and I have had the pleasure and honor of knowing talented writers and sharing their wonderful words. It is difficult to articulate the satisfaction I have derived from this – a feeling that could never be justly expressed.
Those who know me through my words and as the editor of MasticadoresIndia may have noticed a decline in my interactions and a bit of silence in the past month or so.
Life isn’t a straight path, and its winding ways can often take a person to places where deep contemplation and brave decisions are unavoidable. Yet experiencing this and pushing through creates an awareness and ushers in change which wouldn’t be possible in smoother waters.
MasticadoresIndia will publish its final post on May 31st and I will step back from my role as editor. But as I said goodbye means hello again.
The publication will assume a new name and a new editor from June 1st.
The passion of creativity must remain, and its custodian will always be designated.
So please open your hearts and tune your minds to new beginnings which are inevitable when change is the basis of life.
Thank you for being here and thank you for your invaluable support. I hope you continue to be a part of this ever-evolving writing community and journey.

As the founder of this community, when this moment arrives it is very difficult for me to say goodbye, perhaps because I am a great romantic. Terveen has done a great job, being the one to get top quality writers published on ChewersIndia. I thank you with great love and appreciation! I know that she will continue publishing in Gobblers where with Manuela Timofte we lead another great community of writers. Thank you, I can only say thank you!
Nolca Fox will take over as editor. In case anyone doesn’t know, Masticadores has 13 editors, 80% of whom are women.

You put your trust in me, Juan, and for that I am extremely grateful. MasticadoresIndia gave me so much as a writer and a person – the opportunity to satisfy my passion and the joy of connecting with so many writers and readers. It taught me the basics of being an editor and it allowed me the opportunity to share a variety of writing that deserved to be read and appreciated. Our bond will continue and goodbyes are always difficult, but we renew our association and move forward in hope of giving wings to many unheard voices. Thank you and keep going!

Change is the only constant in life. This is bittersweet. Terveen, you helped me accomplish a dream I had for more than 40 years: becoming a published writer. I will never forget what you’ve done for my writing dreams. But even more, I will always remember your kindness, encouragement and unwavering support, your quick wit, your incredible writing chops, and your friendship. You’ve made my life a little more bearable over the past year and a half. I can’t thank you enough for believing in me and my writing and for reaching out to me a year ago to encourage me to submit my poetry to MasticadoresIndia. Hi Turveen, whatever the cause I do hope there is, or will be, a positive outcome to your departure. Your editorial skills must not go to waste! Dear Terveen, we meet people along the way in our lives that add a whole new level of kindness, compassion, diversity, and humanity. Your comments when your writers were published were so perceptive and just plain amazingly spot on as many a writer verified. From the very start you treated me with such kindness and encouragement that I was touched beyond words. My stories which were difficult for me as I am more of a poet, was something you never gave up on. You were determined to help me even if it took up extra time to do so, you gladly continued to edit and give ideas to make my work as a storyteller more succinct, and to have more surprises. I can’t tell you how selfish I felt at times for taking so much of your already extremely busy schedule. You are a lover of words, making films, great stories and finding talent from people all over the world. I also appreciate your unique writers that wrote different than the masses. I learned a lot from them and hope they will continue to contribute. That said, you have touched my heart with your willingness to work with me and I am a better writer for that gracious gift. May your new journey always include your movie making (which is so impactful), writing and showing people that there is real kindness in the publication arena. I love what Mike said because I know how I felt when I got my first poem published and what it felt like.
